Our 2024 Impact Report highlights our continued efforts towards helping to build a more sustainable future for all. As part of our ongoing commitment to creating lasting value for our stakeholders, the report provides a comprehensive overview of our sustainability initiatives encompassing environmental stewardship, social responsibility and strategic partnerships.
At LGT, the Princely Family have made an ambitious commitment to reach net-zero by 2030, both across LGT’s operations and own investments. To reach this goal, we are looking to transition to 100% renewable energy and reduce operational emissions by 90% by 2030, as well as engage in the carbon removals market to address residual emissions. In working towards this target, we remain dedicated to contributing towards driving positive change for a more sustainable financial sector.
In 2023, we supported a range of sustainability projects, from wetlands creation to tackling e-waste. We continued our partnership with Reconome, an organisation that refurbishes IT equipment and distributes them to foundations, schools, charities and community organisations, providing beneficiaries with new devices to aid with education, employment and interconnectivity, and reducing the amount of e-waste ending up in landfill. We continued to expand our stewardship strategy and joined Nature Action 100, having been members of Climate Action 100+ since 2022. Through this global investor-led initiative, participants like LGT engage companies in key sectors, such as pharmaceuticals and agriculture, to support corporate action to reduce nature and biodiversity loss.
As we look to the future, we are aware of the scale of the challenge that lies ahead and remain committed to doing what we can to help mitigate climate change, preserve natural resources and promote biodiversity.
